Tutorial - linking menu process with shortcode string definition

As we've previously established, menu is also a process. That's why it can be linked to a shortcode definition, which is presented step-by-step in this tutorial. As a result, the end user will be able to see the created menu by making a USSD call matching the shortcode string definition.

Requirements

  • User is logged in.
  • User chose the application.
  • At least one menu variant is defined. (More about menus in next section: Menu Builder)

Steps to follow

  1. Start with a menu variant. Remember its name, because it will be used in next step.

  2. Open the USSD STRINGS tab and create a new shortcode string definition.

  3. Select menu variant from the first step as a process. As the menus are also processes, they reside in Built-in sublist.

It's worth noting that the fuzzy search in dropdown list allows simple gramatical errors, which helps to find correct process and improved user experience.
  4. Optionally add shortcode segments.

  5. Save the changes.

After a short while, menu variant will be accessible by calling a shortcode *425*003*1#. Here's how it might look like on the end user's phone:

Thanks to such menu, the end users now can send only one number to execute a next process. It saves them time while making their experience effortless and easy.
